Guest Speaker will be David Johnson, NARP's new Assistant Director in Washington, DC. Topics will include the 2006 National Amtrak Budget and how we can help, Amtrak Spring schedules and service changes. David's broad knowledge of passenger rail travel, railroad infrastructure and the obstacles facing Amtrak make him a most valuable asset to our team. He has experience in operational details handling group travel in the US and Canada and with escorting those groups giving him a great background for the job ahead. We think you will enjoy his youthful spirit and the ... "Let's get with it!" ... attitude he brings to NARP.

NARP National Treasurer Bob Glover, will fill us in on changes at the NARP office and our funding needs.

Member Jeff Lange will make observations about the California rail program over the past 25 years, identifying where expectations have been exceeded and noting some of the areas where results are less satisfying and below expectations. A former member of the NARP and TRAC Board's he is well qualified to speak on these matters.

Arrival Fullerton from the South on Surfliner at 9:13am, with return from Fullerton at 3:32pm, or several later trains. Arrival Fullerton from the North on Surfliner at 10:12am, with return from Fullerton at 2:57pm, or serveral later trains. For points North of Los Angeles depart Fullerton at 2:08pm or 6:09pm. NARP members should present their membership cards at time of Amtrak ticketing for your 10% discount. Membership is not required to attend the meeting. We appreciate supporters of rail travel at our meetings.

Meeting Registration will include your lunch, a non-alcoholic beverage with lunch and gratuity. A No Host bar will be available.

MENU: THE RAIL SANDWICH - Freshly baked Baguette bread with thinly sliced turkey, ham and cheese, stacked triple deck with lettuce, tomato and mayo. Served TWO SANDWICHES with pasta salad. The meal is finished off with a slice of homemade apple pie. You definitely will not go away hungry! (Alternate item: Tuna Pita Sandwich with pasta salad By Advance Reservation Only)

We are planning to have our usual drawing for some railroadiana, five tickets for $1.00. Should you have something to donate to the cause, bring it to the meeting with you. New items only, postcards, caps, T-shirts, posters, calendars, etc.

The usual give away table of current timetables/promotion pieces will be on hand. Bring issues from your area. Particularly needed are items from San Diego, San Jose, Sacramento and all the Bay Area.

This year we will also have a table of older surplus Metrolink and Coaster timetables, from Ed's winter housecleaning.
