California Coastal Rail Trains
www.trainweb.com/ccrc/thetrains.html

Passengers have various opinions about the passenger rail cars used along the California Coast. Some people like the seating, layout and features in one type of car while other people like the features of a different car. When traveling to a destination, some people will pick which train to take based on the equipment that will be featured.

Over time, we plan to post detailed descriptions and photographs of both the interior and exterior of each type of passenger rail car used on the California Coastal routes. This will give you an idea of the rail travel accommodation options that are available.

If you must travel at a specific time on a specific day, or commute to work by rail, then your options may be limited. But, if you are a liesurely outing by rail, you may be able to pick your desired rail accomodation by picking the time of your travel.

The interior of the Metrolink and Coaster trains are basically identical. There are variations in seating layout and color patterns, even among various Metrolink cars themselves, but these differences are minor. On the other hand, Amtrak operates many different types of passenger equipment on the Amtrak San Diegans route.
