Haven't had a chance to write up my most recent trip on the Coast Starlight
yet, which was the entire route from Seattle, Washington all the way to
Los Angeles, California. However, I would like to say that it was the best
trip yet!
Click here for photos & more info about the Coast Starlight.
Credit for this trip goes to Service Chief David Flemming,
our Car Attendant Edward Turner (E.T.), Cecil Deli in the Diner, Lounge
Car Attendant Romeo Go, and Conductors Art Gary and Bruce Adair. When you
start to cover the number of miles that I have covered on Amtrak, you start
meeting the same staff over and over again. Don't be surprised if you meet
many of these people on your next trip on the Coast Starlight! A special
note of appreciation goes to Peggy Lyon who waited on us several times in
the Dining Car on this trip. Peggy waited on my daughter and I last
December on the Southwest Chief. Peggy and my daughter hit it off and my
daughter, who is really good at art, gave some drawings to Peggy that she
said she would treasure forever. Peggy didn't remember me, but she sure
remembered my daughter! I just reminded her a little about my daughters last
interaction with her and Peggy finished the rest of the story.
