Below are just a few photos from our return trip on the westbound Amtrak Southwest Chief after we got off the Patrick Henry Private Railcars in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
A few of us were invited to ride the Patrick Henry Private Railcars from Los Angeles, California, to Albuquerque, New Mexico. Once we arrived in Albuquerque we needed a way to get back to Los Angeles. The only reasonable way to make the return trip seemed to be to just take the Amtrak Southwest Chief back to Los Angeles.
We were expecting about a 5 hour layover between the time our private railcars arrived into Albuquerque on the tail end of the eastbound Amtrak Southwest Chief. But because our eastbound train was running a few hours late, we only had to wait about an hour on the platform of the Amtrak Albuquerque platform before boarding our westbound Amtrak Southwest Chief.
Most of the photos below feature the Amtrak Dining Car and the latest menus that are featured on many of the Amtrak Long Distance trains.
