The Overland Trail car was built in 1949 and has been restored to its "as built"
appearance. The car also meets every Amtrak requirement for operation in their trains. The
car features an exquisite Art Deco lounge, a gracious quarter-circle bar, and an operating
barbershop.
The charter rate for groups lists at $3600.00 between Los Angeles and San Diego (round trip).
That includes exclusive occupancy of the Overland Trail by your group, attentive service by
traditionally attired crew, light meal and beverage service, fresh flowers, crisp linen,
period music ... everything for a great time.
If you would like to "sample" the Overland Trail, we operate a public excursion once a month
between Los Angeles and San Diego. The fare is a special rate of $110.00 per person, to
introduce people to the joy and thrill of private car conveyance aboard the 1st class ...

The Overland Trail is stored on track 41 at Los Angeles Union Station and is available for
stationary special events. The Overland Trail seats 39 or can seat and stand up to 50 guests.
There is plenty of "patio" space around the rail cars for large groups with vintage railway
cars as the backdrop for your party. The car rents for $100.00 an hour (three hour minimum)
up to a maximum charge of $700.00, after which the car "is yours for the whole day". Feel
free to stock the car as you wish or catering can be arranged.
