Subject: {A-A} The irony of it all...
   Date: Thu, 07 Dec 2000 09:38:38 -0800
   From: Gene Poon
     To: All-Aboard

Ironically, both Coast Starlights going through Northern California last
night...the southbound which derailed when it struck a CORP freight train
fouling the main track, and the northbound which was annulled at Redding...were
close to schedule and probably would have been on time at their next reporting
points.

Train 11 departed Klamath Falls 13 minutes late.

Train 14 departed Chico 19 minutes late.

Central Oregon and Pacific (CORP) is the regional railroad currently operating
the former Southern Pacific Siskiyou Line, which was SP's original
California-Oregon main line before the Natron Cutoff was completed to complete
the Cascade Line, which the Starlight and all through UP traffic use.
