Originally designed as an economical airliner with high performance and multi-engine reliability, it was first produced in 1934. Lockheed's Electra was their first all metal twin engine transport monoplane. Electra was on the cutting edge of technology in the 1930's. Various models were produced until 1941.
Utilized as the plane of choice for Amelia Earhart's attempted around the world flight, the Electra 10E was the only airframe and engine combination available with the power and design capacity to carry the extraordinarily heavy fuel loads required for the long legs planned.
Williams Brothers is proud to offer this plane as a 1/53
