My intent is to place a wealth of information onto the web about Amtrak
from a personal point of view. I also intend to make this a place to
easily find links to other rail information, especially to other web
sites that feature information on Amtrak.
Travel by rail in the United States is pretty much synonymous with "Amtrak",
the National Railroad Passenger Corporation created by congressional
legislation in 1970. The first passenger train to operate under the Amtrak
banner was on May 1, 1971.
