Many stations have telephones. Please consult your schedule or ask a crew member which stops will be long enough for you to place your call and plan your stops accordingly. Also, be aware that, due to rock formations and distance from and between populated areas, radio and cellular telephone reception may sometimes be poor. Earphones must be worn whenever playing portable radios and CD or cassette players.

Car Diagrams and Emergency Instructions have been posted throughout the train. Please familiarize yourself with this information and take note of emergency exit locations.

Please be aware that, while the train is in motion, movement can be swift and unpredictable. There are handrails and grab bars mounted in stairwells, in the showers, and between the cars. Please watch your step at all times and hold on to the safety rails provided.

Sturdy shoes must be worn at all times while walking about the train. We will be unable to provide service in either the Lounge or Dining Cars to anyone not wearing proper footwear.

Please respect the privacy and comfort of your fellow guests by keeping noise levels at a minimum while in the Sleeper.

This train passes through three time zones on its cross country journey. Generally, all time changes occur during the night. For all practical purposes, you may adjust your clocks before retiring for the night to reflect the following day's schedule. WESTBOUND passengers will want to set their watches BACK on hour each night, while EASTBOUND passengers will want to set theirs one houd AHEAD. Please take this into consideration when planning your morning. If you desire a wake-up call or wish to have breakfast in the Diner, remember, the crew will be operating on the next day's correct LOCAL time. All arrival and departure times are listed in the timetable according to the local time in each zone.

We invite you to participate in any activities, games, and get-togethers scheduled each day. Feel free to attend the movies, show daily in the Sightseer(R) Lounge Car. Listen for special announcements informing you of these events.

Sleeping accommodation upgrades may be available for an additional charge. Ask the conductor or your attendant for more information.

Gratuities have not been included in your fare and are at your discretion.
