Welcome Aboard!
Should you need anything while you are traveling with us, there
is a crew member ready to assist you. Here is a brief description
of what to do so you will know which one of us to call on:
The Conductor, like the Captain of a ship, is in charge of the safe
operation of the train. The Conductor and the Assistant
Conductor are responsible for the collection of all tickets, the on
board sales of tickets and accommodation upgrades, and the boarding and
detraining of all passengers.
The Chief of On-Board Services ensures that all of our guests enjoy
a pleasant and comfortable journey. The Chief leads the On-Board Services
crew in providing quality service in all areas of the train.
Your Sleeping Car Attendant offers personalized service such as
turning down your bed, bringing your daily paper and individual toiletries,
and making up your room in the morning. If you would like a wake-up call,
require any special assistance, or would simply like to know more about
the train, this is the person to ask.
The Train Attendants working in Coach Service are each assigned to
a specific car. They ensure that all passengers in their respective cars
receive the help, information, and services we have to offer.
In the Dining Car, the Lead Service Attendant is the Amtrak maitre d'
and works with the Service Attendants to serve you throughout your
meal. Amtrak Chefs are trained at the renowned Culinary Institute
of America.
The Lounge Car Attendant offers a variety of snacks, sandwiches and
beverages for your enjoyment throughout the day.
The Engineer and Assistant Engineer are stationed in the
locomotive and are responsible for the safe operation of the train.
