In reference to Matthew Melzer's Comments (MelzerApril7.html):

I agree 100% with Matt.  It is not diner-lite that is to come next year and has some good features  IF  Amtrak call pull it off.

The present change is not diner-lite and it should not be referred too that way.

No restaurant that I am aware of can satisfy everyone's  taste or level of service. This includes Amtrak,  the railroads prior to Amtrak and not the next 2 steps of Amtrak service.  Many go to McDonalds   and enjoys it.  For me its not food, unless the next choice 25 miles a way.  Will also ask, how many of you have found a good restaurant to meet your needs, to find out that the ownership or chef changed?

Please think about meals outside Amtrak before posting.

Any food reports must have notes taken,   names, length of time for service etc.   It has to be accurate, to have any value to Amtrak or Congress.

How many did not enjoy the limited service of the early  80's. ?  But by golly, we survived, until it was found that it was a disaster.   Remember the new management of Amtrak ( Congress ) must learn this all over.  We can help with facts....not blasting on one persons opinion or something received 3rd hand.

I am not endorsing either of the proposed service as good or useful in saving money,  but also remember the old saying."Try it, you may like it"
