Second Amtrak Surfliner Set
Heads South To San Diego
http://www.trainweb.com/routes/route_ps/2000f30a
At about 9 A.M. this morning, Friday, June 30, 2000, the second
Amtrak Surfliner trainset passed through Fullerton on its way to
San Diego out of Los Angeles for the first time. This second set
was attrached to the rear of the first set of Surfliner cars that
has already been in operation for about a month. Together, these
two sets of Surfliner cars created one long 10 car Surfliner trainset!
With F59PHI locomotives at each end, the total train length was 12
cars and was quite an impressive sight as it stopped in Fullerton to
pick up southbound passengers!
The second set in the rear was closed off to passengers and only the
first set was open. But still, it was Surfliner Cars all the way as
far as we could see in both directions out the TrainWeb office window
upstairs in the Fullerton Santa Fe Depot!
