Amtrak Sunset Limited Photographs - San Antonio

Photographs of the Amtrak Sunset Limited in the San Antonio Depot in Texas. Photographs of the San Antonio Depot of some scenery from the journey can also be found here.

All of the above are photos of the Sunset Limited / Texas Eagle at the San Antonio Depot. The eastbound and westbound Sunset Limiteds are shown meeting each other in the photo with two trains next to each other. The mobile shack in the right frame above is the current San Antonio Amtrak Station.

The big green boxcars in the 2 photos above left are being used by Amtrak to ship express freight. The building on the right is the San Antonio Depot. As of this writing, it is not being used by Amtrak and there are no current plans to put the Amtrak station back into the depot. Current plans call for it to house a saloon.

The tall building in the left photo is the Marriott Hotel. The two pictures on the right are of the High Bridge over the Pecos River. I believe this is the highest railroad bridge in America.

The two photos on the left are of the interior of the Superliner Dining Car. The photo on the right is of the corridor down the middle of the Superliner Sleeping Car.

A tower in San Antonio.
