3 Full-length Dome Cars On Amtrak San Diegans
www.trainweb.com/news/2000d14a.html
All 3 full-length dome cars were in use on the Amtrak San Diegan line on Thursday,
April 13, 2000. Normally there are 2 domecars in use on the line each day. Sometimes
there will only be 1 in use, and on rare occassions there will be none in use on a
particular day. Today was the first time that I noticed all 3 in use at once.
A northbound and a southbound Amtrak San Diegan were in the Fullerton Santa Fe Depot Amtrak
Station at the same time, both with full-length dome cars. About an hour later, the next
northbound Amtrak San Diegan also had a dome car! That was much too short a time interval for
the train to get all the way south to San Diego and back to Fullerton again (a round-trip
distance of 206 miles!).
