These are the photos from my rail trip on the Amtrak San Diegans on Saturday, August 29, 1998, to the August San Diegans Club Meeting.
The first frame was taken from the Fullerton Santa Fe Depot southbound platform and shows an Amtrak San Diegan approaching the station cab forward while a freight train passes it heading north on the center track.
The second frame shows the San Clemente Pier. The next three frames shows the surf rolling into the beaches between San Clemente and Oceanside. The next two frames are of the San Onofre Nuclear Power Plant.
The ninth frame shows the interior of the Pacific (Custom) Class Car on the Amtrak San Diegan followed by a photo of my notebook computer at my seat. Frame twelve shows just a bit of the combination Coasters / Metrolink service yard.
Frames 13 through 16 shows some of the area just north of the Oceanside Amtrak / Coaster Station. Frame 17 is of the interior of the Amtrak Pacific (Custom) Class Car. Frames 18 through 39 were all taken near the San Diego Amtrak (Santa Fe) Station.
Frames 40 through 53 show the interior of the Amtrak San Diegans Pacific (Custom) Class Car except for frames 49 through 51 which are of the regular Coach section on the same train.
Frames 55 through 75 were taken in Oceanside and include photos of an F40 locomotive, the private rail car "Overland Trail", the Oceanside Amtrak Station, a Coaster Train Locomotive, plus photos of the Oceanside pier and some members of the San Diegan Club.
