Vandenberg AFB:
As seen from the window of the Amtrak Coast Starlight. Several missle launch towers can
be seen, including the huge white building of the western Space Shuttle Launch Facility.
A large American flag can be seen on the side of the building. The western Space Shuttle
Launch Facility has never been used and is now abandoned.

1999-May-05: Shoo-flys in Fullerton, California.
Two shoo-flys will be used in Fullerton, California, just west of the Amtrak /
Metrolink Station for probably the next 18 to 24 months while an underpass is
constructed at Highland Avenue. This is likely to greatly decrease the speed at which
freight trains pass by the TrainWeb WebCams (see:
www.trainweb.com/webcams).
The reduction from 3 tracks to 2 tracks and the reduction of speed of the freight trains
through the Fullerton Santa Fe Depot will also reduce the total number of trains that
can be accommodated through this section of track for the next year or two and will
probably impact the schedules of the Amtrak San Diegans and Metrolink trains.
